| Graham raises residents concerns with incinerator developers |
|
Graham has wasted no time in standing up for local residents and has met with senior figures at Brunner Mond about their plans for an incinerator at Lostock.
Brunner Mond Managing Director, Dr Martin Ashcroft, met with Graham to discuss how they can work together to help improve Northwich. However Graham also raised the concerns of thousands of local residents about the proposals for a new incinerator.
Graham, who has been a long standing campaigner against the proposals, commented "One of my first acts as the new Member of Parliament was to reaffirm my support for the Cheshire Anti-Incinerator Network (CHAIN). In this meeting with the developers, I wanted to ensure that the views of my constituents are well and truly heard."
"Northwich is rightly proud of its industrial history and I want to do everything I can to ensure that vital local employers like Brunner Mond stay in the area. However, supporting business does not mean ignoring the wishes of residents and allowing the construction of an incinerator which could have a serious negative impact on the surrounding environment and the quality of life." |
